September update

Brickwork 99% completed.... waiting on 2 window sills and we are done.
Roof tiles need to be put above garage & meals area and then we are officially locked up.
Scaffolding has been taken down, looks much more neat and less cluttered. Now I can thoroughly inspect the brickwork.
Apparently it's full steam ahead now that the scaffolding has been removed.....

Frames

Base Stage

Must say we are delighted with the progress so far, been approx 1 month since they have started. We are now at the frame stage, just awaiting roof trusses and 1st floor windows to be installed. Hopefully this can be achieved by the end of next week.

PS: Apologies, slab photos are poor quality thanks to my little girl who destroyed my good camera phone, had to use an old phone to take these pics.

May update

Finally signed contracts and completed colour appointment. Land settlement is a few weeks away so hopefully we can start building later next month.
Emir, plans should be up soon. I have also been stuffing around with MS paint, trying to depict the facade. At the moment it looks pretty ordinary, hope it looks better in real life. Is it just me or once you sign contracts, do you have regrets with certain things/colours you have chosen and want them changed ?? I have already requested 3 changes post contract signing, was told next time we will be charged the admin fee.... grrrrr.. But still unsure about a few things which include skirting boards/door frames, facade colours, window frame colours, interior colours, facade render colours etc.
Just hope the developer approves the design/plans, they seem to have very stringent standards, and ours being one of the first to be built in the estate worries me.

Intro

Hi and welcome to our building blog.
Mid last year we purchased a block of land in Lalor's Carlingford estate. This prompted us to sell up in Craigieburn and since have been living with my parents (grrr). Add Image
We have been to display home after display home for over 6 months and have finally settled for the Parkside by Simonds. We got the ball rolling by signing up last weekto lock in the price and promo.
Our land title wont be ready until April/May and Simonds have told us that construction will commence around mid June, so at this stage everything is looking good (fingers crossed)
This will be the first time we are building so its all a little confusing and scary, however we have found many helpfull links and info on the homeone forum.
I will try my best to keep this blog updated and would love for future discussion and feedback during our journey.
Thanks
Ken
